This revolutionary design concept was born in 1982 by Peter J Lassen, whose solid pine units with coloured back panels had been used to complement Arne Jacobsen’s furniture designs in the Seventies.Combining the ultimate in shelf flexibility with an eye-catching kaleidoscope of colour, the Montana system launched to an appreciative international audience at the Cologne furniture fair in the early Eighties.
